Chapter-by-Chapter Content Guide
Unearthing: Blood & Bone is a dark fantasy for adult readers. This guide lists what each chapter contains so you can decide how, when and whether to read. Each chapter is hidden until you open it, because some notes hint at what happens.
A few things run through the whole book: explicit consensual sex and BDSM between adults, the lasting effects of childhood sexual abuse, coercive control, institutional oppression, and the use of ashvine, a smokable plant. Many chapters include brief, non-graphic memories of the main character’s childhood abuse. They’re listed wherever they appear.
“On page” means it happens in the scene. “Memory” means a flashback or recollection. “Referenced” means it’s mentioned, not shown.
You’re allowed to skip a chapter, or several. You don’t owe a story your suffering just because someone else wrote it.

PRETTY GIRLS HAVE TEETH
For the girls who were mistaken for soft because no one stayed long enough to see them bite. Female rage, filthy confidence, heartbreak, rebellion, and songs best played loud enough to scare mediocre men.
Naeryn Vaelora • UNEARTHING: BLOOD & BONE
BAD MEN & WORSE DECISIONS
For men with red flags, chemistry with terrible timing, sex that absolutely will not fix anything, and every bad decision you knew was bad before you made it.
No lessons were learned in the making of this playlist.
Naeryn Vaelora • UNEARTHING: BLOOD & BONE
TERRIBLE IDEAS, EXCELLENT MUSIC
Turn it up. Hit harder. Stay out too late. Make a few questionable choices and worry about the consequences tomorrow.
For loud nights, bad influences, adrenaline, and the unwavering belief that one more song is always a good idea.
Trevor Aodhán • UNEARTHING: BLOOD & BONE
A WOMAN WORTH KNEELING FOR
Kneel pretty.
Stay for the soul.
Silk, command, slow-burning rhythm, and the kind of woman you don’t surrender to because she demands it. You surrender because something about her makes devotion feel like freedom.
Delilah Caoimhe • UNEARTHING: BLOOD & BONE
A BEAUTIFUL KIND OF CONTROL
Order. Restraint. Obedience. Desire kept on a very short leash.
For beautiful things that become dangerous when held too tightly, and the terrifying moment you realize control might be the cage, not the key.
Riven Solan • UNEARTHING: BLOOD & BONE
Pairing Playlists
THE SHAPE OF SURRENDER | Anamghrá
They learned each other in trust, ritual, teeth, tenderness, and the sacred exchange of power. A love language built from knowing exactly when to command, when to surrender, and when to simply hold.
Trevor + Delilah • UNEARTHING: BLOOD & BONE
ASHVINE & ALIBIS
Smoke in their lungs. Liquor on their tongues. Music loud enough to make tomorrow somebody else’s problem.
If anyone asks, Trevor and Naeryn were never there.
UNEARTHING: BLOOD & BONE
GIRLS WHO BITE BACK
Some women teach you softness. Some remind you that you have teeth. Songs for feminine hunger, dangerous tenderness, curiosity, and the particular intimacy of being seen by a woman who refuses to make you smaller.
Naeryn + Delilah • UNEARTHING: BLOOD & BONE
BAD FOR ME LOOKS GOOD ON YOU
Too much chemistry. Not enough trust. Control, surrender, obsession, and the deeply inconvenient experience of wanting someone your better judgment has already rejected.
Some red flags just look better in low light.
