History is
what survives.
Sometimes because it was remembered.
Sometimes because someone wanted it to.
The records of Eden are incomplete.
Some were burned.
Some were rewritten.
Some survived in stone.
Some survived in bodies.
Not every contradiction has been resolved.
Lore &
Histories
Recovered through Book I
Fréamh
The land where the record begins.
Fréamh · The Iron Realm
Recovered
A mining valley under a sky the color of old iron. The first of seven realms, and the name of the First Frequency: Root.
“Fréamh is not merely a name, Riven… It is what this place is made of.”
Record status: RecoveredCaol Dubh
Recovered
The stone settlement of the valley. The Overseers built it on the premise that ornamentation was a form of distraction, and distraction a form of rebellion. Bare stone. Functional angles. Small windows.
Caol Dubh was built over structures connected to the original seals.
Record status: RecoveredThe Mines
Amended
Labor bells, shifts, quotas. Families worked the same seams for generations; the Vaelora seam runs deep beneath Mine Three.
Book I spoiler · tap to reveal
After the awakening: “The mines are yours. You will enter them for relationship rather than extraction.”
The Forge
Amended
A geothermal ore-vein complex. Volcanic chambers. Geothermal anomalies.
The whole mine system beneath the mountain. Its deep heart has never been mapped. Suppressed archives called it a frequency anchor.
Where the official survey ink simply stops, the old maps write one word in an older script: Forge.
Record status: AmendedThe Rusted Lantern
Recovered
A tavern near the center of the district, with the comfortable permanence of a place that has never once considered improving itself. A téadán in the corner. Ashvine. Questionable decisions.
Record status: RecoveredThe Outer Settlements
Oral record
The riverbank settlements at the realm’s outer edge, where the old ways lasted longest and the air is cleaner and older. Their elders stood as witnesses in the square.
Record status: Oral recordThe Awakening
Recovered
Book I spoiler · tap to reveal
The valley turned green overnight. Grass through the stones. Red and gold flowers. Young trees. A sky of “Blue. Actual blue.” Water in the dry riverbed again.
The next morning: “The labor bells remain silent.”
Orders & Offices
Institutions and offices named in Book I.
The Order
Official record
“Efficiency is the Order’s highest virtue.” It predates any single Overseer, with seven branches spread across seven realms, seven frequencies divided, contained, and watched.
Its prayer, chanted at dawn and dusk: Socair a choinníonn. Stillness sustains.
Record status: Official recordThe Overseers
Amended
The council of Fréamh, meeting in a sanctum carved from living stone, presided over by High Keeper Oran. They burned their own minutes at the end of each session.
Record status: AmendedThe Eye
Official record
A suspended sphere of molten ore held in chains etched with containment sigils. The Order’s primary sensory organ, filtering the world’s frequencies into stability or instability.
“The Eye watches. We will not blink.”
Book I spoiler · tap to reveal
By the end of Book I: “The Eye is gone now.”
Engineers
Official record
The Order’s technical class. Riven Solan arrived in Fréamh as a Mineral Resonance Engineer, Order Administrative Class, First Tier. Official assignment: seismic assessment and structural evaluation.
Record status: Official recordThe Compounds
Disputed
Where the Order sent children whose families were taken. Trevor and Delilah grew up in one.
“…send their children to compounds and call it care.”
Record status: DisputedHistories
What was taught, and what the ground remembers.
The Oracles
Oral record
Before the Order, there were women who listened to the current. Oracles, they were called, though once the word meant something gentler: One who hears.
The Oracles were never publicly destroyed. A dead woman is a symbol; a silenced woman is just an absence. Their songs became scripture. Their rites became superstition.
Record status: Oral recordThe Sealing
Amended
The Overseers documented it as seismic aftershock and left it there.
Seven iron disks, renamed stabilizers. For three days after the first sealing, birds abandoned the surface and livestock refused to drink from the wells.
The Frequencies were sealed nearly two and a half centuries ago.
Record status: AmendedThe Uprising
Disputed
Civil instability managed through Order intervention.
“They called it wanting their lives back.”
Its leaders were not entered into the record. This was policy, not oversight.
Record status: DisputedThe Consolidation
Fragment
The Order’s era and calendar. Its records are dated by it.
“It did not break it. It severed each part from the others and taught what remained to survive the separation.”
Record status: FragmentThe Fracture
Incomplete
Older things are dated from before it: pre-Fracture tunnels, pre-Fracture instruments, pre-Fracture glyphs.
What the Fracture was is not in the record.
Record status: IncompleteCustoms & Substances
What people drank, smoked, prayed, and practised.
Kavair
Recovered
Fréamh’s dark, bitter answer to coffee. Taken strong, and in the morning.
Book I spoiler · tap to reveal
After the awakening, a woman drags a chair into the road and drinks Kavair with both bare feet in the new grass.
Ashvine · Cinerea vites
Recovered
A hardy, soot-colored creeper that thrives in the thermal vents of the Iron Realm, strongest in the tunnel crevices closest to the Forge. Smoked for relaxation and altered bodily sensation. It is not hallucinogenic.
“Sweet smoke. Earth-bitter and heavy.”
Record status: RecoveredAn Talú · The Grounding
Recovered
un TAH-loo
An embodied practice of returning to relationship with the earth: palms, soles, or spine against the ground. Some still press a palm to the floor before sitting, without knowing why.
Record status: RecoveredThe Engineered Deities
Official record
Mórán, grant me stillness of body and purpose of hand.
Dúnmhar, still my tongue and soften my wanting.
Caill, the Steward of Order, whose face is never shown: keep the walls from speaking and the earth from moving.
Records suggest Mórán was repurposed from an ancient word for “The Great Silence.”
Record status: Official recordThe Téadán
Recovered
A stringed instrument from before the Fracture, tuned to an interval that answers the Root. The Order discouraged its teaching.
Record status: RecoveredFrequencies & Intelligences
What moves beneath the stone.
The Seven Frequencies
Recovered
Fréamh. Uisce. Tine. Croí. Glór. Súl. Anam.
Seven Frequencies. Seven realms. Each realm has a Keeper. Only Fréamh has fully awakened.
Record status: RecoveredAshen
Recovered
Guardian of the First Frequency. A wolf of smoke and ember, eight hundred years old.
Record status: RecoveredCoimirí
Partial
A guardian creature bound to a Frequency and those who carry it.
Further records sealed.
Record status: PartialThe Serpent King
Fragment
Iron plates seamed with molten gold. Amber eyes. He lives in the Root Chamber of the world, and his blessing had been given to no one since before the world forgot itself.
“You came seeking the Root. You were standing on it.”
Record status: FragmentThe Tochaltóir · The Burrowers
Oral record
Blind, iron-furred communal creatures sensitive to the resonance of stone, once revered as omens. Miners still say na tochaltóirí ag imeacht, “the burrowers are leaving,” when something is about to shift.
Record status: Oral recordThe Narrow Roads
Fragment
Not roads. Pre-Consolidation texts call them Cúlroithleáin: the back-circuits, running between the world’s Frequencies as blood runs between organs. The Order closed them one by one.
Book I spoiler · tap to reveal
By the end of Book I, the first sealed Narrow Road is open.
The Book of the Narrow Roads
Recovered
One known copy, pre-Consolidation, with pages missing.
When iron forgets the pulse of earth,
and stone falls silent beneath the hands of men,
the First Daughter will hear the buried hum.
The Known World
The map as you know it after Book I.
The world will be drawn as the books reveal it.
The record is incomplete
History does not disappear
simply because someone
burns the page.
Sometimes it waits in stone.
Sometimes in language.
Sometimes in the body.
More will be recovered.
